BRAIN TEASER...

...well, at least it's been teasing mine. I recently read this article on how a certain established producer checks out his mixes in his car, straight out of the studio, via a radio transmittal of some sort. (he said he'd tune in to a particular station on the radio) I thought it was an ingenious idea, since that's where I do a LOT of my listening, I'm familiar with the sound of my car, and I do have a nice system. Yes, I know I can use a cassette or something, but the idea having the signal sent straight to the car (live) is quite impressive. Anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved? I'd be forever grateful...

As for that transmiting your mix from studio to the car, I can't see how such a thing would be legal anywhere. you're using a frecuency that's got to be payed for to use. maybe it's different frecuency band, but I don't think.... cause TV begins after 108MHz right? I don't know... I have no answers... I search and search... aaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!! yayo

I do that with every mix. The process is: 1. Finalize mix with plug-ins, automation and the like. Don't forget to dither! 2. Place Mr. Microphone 3" from the right monitor speaker. Hop in convertible. 3. Don't forget to ogle good lookin' girls from your convertible as you drive by them, offering to pick them up later (This actually requires two Mr. Microphones). There is something you can use called a car stereo . . . ooooh scary! There is even talk of ones which play CDs and even the kind you can burn of your mix. oops, I think I,ve said too much, whats that noise . . . help me please please someone . . . aaah!

again: With a 100' range, I don't see how you could get sued. Unless a lawyer is hidden behind your backseat? An advantage of that technic over the burned cD is you are going to sound like that on the radio!!! You get instant FM modulation/demodulation with all the compression that's in there and all.... I still don't really know how to do this, but if you guys are familiar with the little transmitters you use for car CD players (not in-dash), where you have to set your radio to like 87.9 or something to tune in to it, I can kinda see how this could be done. Somehow bypass the CD signal with the signal coming from the mixer.... i dunno
