Half recording

Hi, I tried searching for this but I wasn't sure what to search for. Whenever I try to record a guitar part (usb in) It will only keep the second half of the recording and remove the first half. Sometimes I press record, but it doesn't save anything and nothing shows up. The track is enabled for recording. Thanks for your help.

Is a "region" created for the recording duration but only half shows a waveform? I'd be happy to help. The more you can tell us the more we can help you out.

Does it start and(or) stop recording in consistent places?

Now I can't even get it to keep anything. I press record, play, press stop, and then there is nothing there. It does not create a region or a waveform.

All you need to do is press record. Pressing play after pressing record will stop recording.
