Firewire CD Burners

I've heard pros & cons both ways. I've been warned that Firewire is just too new & apt to be buggy, but also that is already stable enough & should be fine. I'm not in real need for one right now, but will probably go for the Firewire CDRW in a month or two & watch the posts here in the meantime. There is a new QPS Firewire CDRW that is going for around $279 and EZQuest has a new one for around $369.

FYI, MasterList CD does not support FireWire drives at this time. Or at least it didn't two weeks ago when I blew a wad of dough on an ATTO SCSI controller, per Digi support... Of course that's just MLCD, you could probably use FireWire just fine with other software.

I read, in Keyboard Magazine, that Toast 4.0 is supposed to support Firewire. I too am waiting to get a Firewire CD-r/rw. chudlo

ooops: FYI, actual Firewire drives are EIDE drives with a Firewire interface. A few new ones are SCSI drives with a Forewire interface. I personnally won't buy one before Firewire is built into the drive itself. I have seen Posts from Digi warning about the yamaha 4000 series cdr. Apparently, they get a lot of calls in tech support about these burners. haze
