I replaced my airbox with a cone filter. I put it on after the maf sensor. I just have one question. What am I suppose to do with the breather hose?? I dont think I should be leaving it under the hood just sucking in air or anything else. Any ideas?? thankss
Hi, If you can use it to point external cool air to the cone, then you will help the engine performance in doing so. Make sure the hose is sited so as to not pull in water to the cone.. :) Water doesn't compress as well as air.. Des. . . ;)
AFAIK breather hoses ie cam case breathers are there to expell pressure not suck it in. If you stick a mesh filter on the end (looks like a mini cone airfilter) that should suffice. Alot of very high power cars do exactly this as they need to enlarge the breather system hence the standard pipe wont fit.
