MP4 muxers

Hi, I searched all over the forum, but I didn't find. Is is there an alternative MP4 muxer (then Mp4ip - Mp4ui)? I tell you this because seems that Mp4ip has troubles when muxing Bframed Xvid (or DivX). I tried it but no program was able to handle those videos. Am I wrong? My goal is to create MP4 with Xvid (Bframes) and AAC track. Thanks

Are you sure its the muxer that has the troubles with the BFrames or is it the decoder your trying to play it back with? How are you playing it back? -Nic

If there is an alternative it wont be as good as MPEG4IP. Try the 3ivx filters and remove the mpegable/envivio bad ones. -Nic

Ok, made some tests: I created 2 files: 1 Xvid (Bframes 4-175-100, no qpel no other settings), 1 DivX (with b frames) I put a NERO encoded AAC file. I discovered that NERO doesn't support Multichannel WAVE. I muxed everything using Mp4ip 0.9.7 Here're the results: Bframed streams seems to be muxed ok. DivX gave an error message in the Mp4creator60 window but I don't remember (object missing or something like this). Xvid ... no prob. Mp4player didn't work. Windows media player and Quick Time worked. Xvid gave some problems, but they were due to my horrible mpegable Dshow filter. I don't spare time to uninstall it, because I'm gonna refresh all system soon, so I prefer to wait.

@ symonjfox, nero is actually capable of encoding multichannel aac, the channel coupling and everything like that have already been coded so it would work if there was a way to get multichannel wavs into the encoder. Unfortunately, someone at nero messed up and didn't add support for multichannel wav. It was a known bug in the last encoder and it was supposed to be fixed in the latest version, however someone forgot again. Ivan, the guy who coded the aac encoder said on HA that he will make sure that it works in the next version, but I don't think that it is really his job, but hopefully it will work then. It is really too bad that it doesn't work now since multichannel is one of aac's biggest advantages over other audio codecs. You could always use pystel and aacmachine, probably it won't be as good but at least it will work. And as for an alternative to MP4IP, I have never come across any alternatives ever, let alone one that would be competitive.

Thanks you very much. Nero has a very good quality and a good speed, but I think that AAC can improve a lot, just compare an OLD Lame MP3 with NEW Lame MP3. Let's imagine what AAC can do ;)
