Create Autorun

I know the script code for autrun is: [autorun] open=filename.exe I also know that you have to write this script yourself. So, where is the SVCD file that my standalone DVD player looks for and then plays? From past SVCD that I've created,thanks to DVD2SVCD, they all have the same filename in the folders. Just what file do I open with my autorun?

FAIK, standalones don't look for a file. Standalones aren't computers, they don't understand anything but video and audio. It only knows that a disc is in there and it tries to play whatever is on it.

The standalones have to look for something, and that something has to be found and played. My Apex DVD player auto starts everyone of my DVDs also all of my DVDs have an autorun script in them. So how can I make my SVCD have an autorun feature?

:confused: May I ask you to copy and post here an autorun file from your DVDs? BTW, I know my SVCDs don't have any autorun on them, but my DVD player automatically plays them without any problem...

SVCD's do not have an Autorun file. It is simply by the file structure that the player understands what it is. Either the player supports SVCD auto start or does not. Apex units do not. In fact there are very few that do. For information on players see the forums at They will be able to tell you wether or not the player supports Auto start for SVCD's or not. Mark

Those autorun.inf files are strictly for the pc, not the standalone. The file it opens has to be a win32 executable, so you couldnt tell it to open the dat file anyway, you would get errors everytime you put the disc in the pc...

my guess is that the autorun file on your dvd is part of the "EXTRA FEATURE" to run on your PC... A few of my dvd movies acutally tries to automatically install a player (from memory its like pc friendly or something like that). And for this to happen it also has a autorun file.
