fuseburn, if PiPs could have multi-outs, then maybe that could work for you? they act like a single item, and you can perform any edits inside them, on the (separately recorded) multitracks. delete parts of any drum mic, overdubbing any parts/mics, automation i know PiPs are currently disabled, but they are gonna come back soon afaik. a few more thoughts about the multichannel thing: * if you have SoundForge 9 or later, you can edit any channel of it (filter, mute, etc) * if you only need to mute some parts of some (but not all) channels, you can try the JS/IX mixers as item/track FX (stereo summed solution), or the Vol. Fader automation on your Reaper Mixer. (multichannel media playback needs proper routing setup, meaning you'll have faders/pan, FX insert, sends for all the channels) these are only tips, nothing more.
